Frequently asked questions
When does the countdown reach zero?
The clock reaches zero at local midnight at the start of 25 December and stays at zero for that whole calendar day. On 26 December it counts down to 25 December of the next year.
Which time zone does it use?
The moving clock uses the time zone of the device you are looking at. The days number written into the page source is Coordinated Universal Time, so a cached copy can be shared, and the script replaces it as soon as the page runs.
What is present mode?
Present mode enlarges the numbers for a classroom projector or an always-on screen and hides the rest of the page. Press Present, then Exit or Escape to leave. The classroom page is the same clock with short setup steps.
Can I turn the snow off?
Yes. The Snow button starts on, unless the device asks for reduced motion, in which case it starts off. Your choice is remembered on this browser.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The countdown and the coloring sheet are drawn in this browser. The site counts anonymous events and stores a comment or email only if you send one. There is no account and there are no cookies.
Where is the printable?
The Christmas countdown printable is one page of numbered shapes that form a picture. Color one shape a day. The free sheet is a tree or a snowman, on A4 or US Letter.
Is the coloring page free?
The tree and the snowman, with 24 or 25 days, are free and include a small site address. A 2.99 dollar one-time unlock, when payments are on, adds a name, the gift pile and the gingerbread house, 12 or 30 days, any start date, and a PDF with no watermark.
